Built Environment refers to the concept of sustainability, economic development, and physical environment in order to maintain health and wellness for residents. Housing is health, and indicators such as housing affordability, availability, and conditions as well as transportation systems, services and public safety will effect equity indicators for a community.

Healthcare entails primary care, behavioral health, and ancillary health services such as dental, vision, testing and treatment. Providing safety net access to care that incorporates the many styles and cultural sensitivity to reach socially vulnerable residents is critical to improving health and quality of life.

As of April 20, 2023
DeciPH-ER staff have secured federal funding for local food systems through American Rescue Plan Act dollars in the amount of $1.6 Million in Will County
As of July 1, 2023
DeciPH-ER staff have secured state funding for Violence Prevention and Interruption Services in the amount of more than $375,000 for the Greater Joliet region.

DeciPH-ER staff have secured local funding from the Will County Community Foundation and Community Block Development Grant for Will County.

DeciPH-ER staff have secured regional funding from the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus for Municipalities supporting Asylum Seekers.

DeciPH-ER staff have secured state funding from the Illinois Public Health Institute for medical respite expansion.

DeciPH-ER staff have secured local funding from United Way of Will County for food system technology.
